About Me

for you & your horse

Equine Sports Massage Therapist

From an early age I have loved and been involved with horses. My parents managed a local equestrian centre and being around riders and horses is a very natural environment for me. Through my working life, I have managed livery yards and for the last six years been fortunate enough to work in the equine therapy field. This has allowed me to learn and see first-hand the benefits a balanced horse and rider relationship can bring. A qualified and accredited professional coach with the British Horse Society (BHS), my passion has always been the development and health of the rider, and the wellbeing of the horse.

I had already completed training and qualified as a Therapist in Equine Sports Massage (Cert. ESMT) but was looking for a point of differential, to add value to what I could offer potential clients.

With this in mind, in 2019 I began to research new and innovative ways to help both rider and horse achieve their goals, in a non-invasive manner with demonstrable health benefits. This research led me to Atlasbalans, a Swedish company behind a new well-being concept popularizing the treatment of fascia. They have been empowering therapists with knowledge and tools to perform fascia release treatments since 2009 with over 500 therapists in Europe using their equipment.

New research showed that fascia, a system of connective tissue, has a larger impact on health and well-being than was previously known. This has sparked a worldwide movement within the anatomical research field, with new ground-breaking findings every year.

With Swedish 5-star event riders and the USA Show Jumping team using their equipment, I was intrigued and attended a conference in London. I was amazed at the ease of use and incredible results achieved by fascia release on both humans and horses, and thought there was an opportunity to bring this to the UK.

Following the acquisition of the treatment equipment, I visited Sweden twice – firstly to attend their training course and become a Registered Swedish Fascia Vibes Therapist, then secondly to attend the Falsterbo Horse Show as part of the team of Atlasbalans therapists providing fascia release treatments to competing riders and horses.

“Was sceptical at first, but I felt so much more flexible afterwards – Thanks!”
